Sarah Poindexter
With a diverse creative background in both film (Hollywood and independent), and television (network and public), Sarah has amassed 25 years working in the entertainment industry. Her range of experience includes having a script optioned by Artisan Entertainment, to producing The Source Awards and numerous documentaries including The Tolerance Project, which was nominated for a Mid-Atlantic Emmy and received The National Telecommunications Award for best documentary series. It airs nationally on public television.
She has produced and directed five feature films, three of which she also wrote. Her Christian themed romantic comedy, The Greatest Song, starring Lamman Rucker (Greenleaf and Why did I get Married?) and Aida Rodriguez (Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready) remains one of Image Entertainment’s most successful releases and is currently available via streaming services.
No matter what genre Sarah works in, whether fiction or nonfiction, she has a commitment to telling stories about underrepresented people and ideas. For the last six years she has run Writers Boot Camp, an elite Hollywood training ground for writers working at the highest levels of the industry. She recently started, Perspective Africa, a production company focused on producing content in Africa. She holds an M.F.A in Film and Media Arts from Temple University.
